Innocent Partnership Program
Million Metres is collectively funding a million metres (1000 kilometres) of tree planting along stream bank around New Zealand. Why plant trees along streams?
Recent statistics about our waterways are not good news. 62% of our lowland rivers have more pathogens than are safe to swim in! In fact, many of our waterways are so bad that even out native fish have disappeared. It’s not the clean green image we associate with New Zealand, is it? And without significant intervention now, it’s only going to get worse.
For every carton of smartass sold, we plant a tree here in New Zealand to improve water quality and enhancing freshwater biodiversity.
Homegrown Waiheke have secured funding from Auckland City Council through their Waste Minimisation Fund. We have also committed to sponsoring Homegrown Waiheke and collaborate directly with them to test our products and educate our team/ customers towards a waste-free New Zealand.
